Zentangle Art

W.A.L.T draw Zentangle Art

For the past week, Tui Whanau have been doing Zentangle Art. This is my Art ------>

Here is some steps of how I did it.

How I did this:

Step 1: First I traced a sea animal

Step 2: I then did some Zentangle designs on my animal, don't make your designs to small!

Step 3: Then go over your Zentangle art in Vivid.

Step 4: Cut your art out

Step 5: Get a piece of paper and you can dye and design your background whatever you want!

Step 6: Wait for your background to dry

Step 7: Once your art is dried, you can then glue your art on your dyed paper.

What I enjoyed most about creating my art was... dying the paper, it was satisfying and fun to do! I loved exploring different colours and things I can do. With my dyed art, when I was done I did little splashes of different colours on each colour. It gave this really cool blending sort of effect.

What I found most challenging was... doing my Zentangle art. Most people were at step 3, while I was still doing my art in pencil. I also found doing the vivid hard cause I made some small designs so it was hard to go over them and still make it look good. I did enjoy the process still and I think I did OK.

Have you ever heard of Zentangle art (Before this)? If you had would you like to do art on it? If you followed the steps I gave you, and make you own art, what colour would you use for your background?

Explanation Writing

W.A.L.T write an explanation about bees.

This term Tui Whanau has been learning to write an explanation writing. Here is my writing piece...

How bees make honey

Bees are very hardworking. Did you know that bees have to suck two million flowers to produce only one pound of honey?! That's what you call hard work. Bees also flap their wings two hundred times a second? That's impossible for a human to do!

Bees like collecting nectar in spring, cause that is when flowers bloom. How they collect nectar is by finding a bloomed flower, and the bees suck the nectar out, by using their tongue which is called a proboscis, it's like a straw. It then goes into their honey stomach and then they keep repeating this process until they feel full in their honey stomach.

While they travel back to the honeycomb, which normally takes around 7 days - 2 months so the nectar and the protein has time to mix together in the bees stomach mixes, which it then converts into honey.

When the bees come back to the hive. The honey is then placed into a honeycomb and the bees then flap their wings as fast as they can for the honey to dry out. They then cover it with wax to keep it fresh.

Once the bees are done filling the honeycombs, a beekeeper just has to farm the honey from the hive, put it in a jar, and sell it! That is how honey is made. What I learnt making this is that bees are extremely hard working and a human just has to go to the store, take a honey jar, put it in their basket, trolley, etc, and then pay.

I am most proud of is how I explained the explanation, even though I didn't do the best at planning, so I had very little information, but I tried my best to make it readable, not confusing Things I need to work on is... making the writing more eye catching and not boring, not rushing the writing and making it more complex.

Did you enjoy reading my blog? Do you like bees? Have you ever wrote a explanation?

Bob Ross

W.A.L.T write about one of our favourite artist.

Bob Ross is one of my favourite artist. He was 52 years old before he died of Lymphoma on the 4th of July 1995, which is very sad. He was born on 29th October 1942. Before he passed, he did calming tutorials on YouTube. His videos were about him showing you beautiful paintings hes painted and you can follow along and paint your own one, painting techniques, how to paint things that look hard, and more! You'll have to watch him to see more things he does. Bob has 2 children, Morgan Ross and Steven Ross. Bob Ross has a wife (now ex wife) Called Jane Ross, but she sadly die of Cancer. Bob Ross' current wife is now, Lynda Brown. It unknown if shes still alive. Why Bob Ross is one of my favourite artist is because I love his personality, its very calm, peaceful and wholesome. How I found out about him is because I found some of my mums old paint brushes she used, and I asked her if she used to paint. She replied back saying "Yes, I used to follow tutorials of Bob Ross.", and that's how I found out about him.
